The 5^th of October marked KE Software's 10^th anniversary in Europe, with KE's first Manchester office set up in October 2000. The Manchester Museum, Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester City Galleries, Museum of Science and Industry and the People’s History Museum all purchased the EMu museum management system and the KE European office was born.

To celebrate this event in style we booked the Barbirolli Bar, which is just across the road from the Museums Association Conference which happened to be in Manchester this year. Unfortunately Barbirolli went bust and with just 24 hours notice the party was moved next door to the MA conference at Bar 38: we had balloons and pizzas and lots of drinks as well as delicious mini KE cupcakes and, unusually for Manchester, a bright sunny afternoon.

It was a really enjoyable birthday party with over 40 people. All the original consortium group from Manchester attended as well as people from as far afield as New Zealand (Te Papa) and representatives from the Australian offices.
