The National Portrait Gallery is part of the Federal Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts.  The main gallery space is the Parliamentary Library, off Kings Hall, which houses a permanent display of Australian portraits in all media, ranging from paintings and formal busts to photographs and sketches.
